Dotcom was founded in 2003 to provide web-based software solutions for businesses. Initially the company worked both in the UK contracting market and as a supplier of bespoke e-commerce and business process automation software from its base in central Scotland.
From the outset, we recognised the importance of being able to provide our clients with a framework of low-cost website features that could be customised to their specific needs. Our answer to this was eTrader, a flexible e-commerce product and Content Management System, popular with SME's.
In 2009, Dotcom added an important new line of business in implementing and customising the open-source Content Management System DotNetNuke. As well as its scalability and strong user and developer community, we chose DotNetNuke to take full advantage of our extensive ASP.NET and SQL Server development experience.
